Walk into our shop on Tildesley Road with a PDF on a USB stick, and in most cases we can have your job ready within a couple of hours. But turnaround depends on three things: what you're printing, how much, and whether the file is print-ready. This short guide sets realistic expectations so you know what to expect when you ring us.
Jobs we typically turn around the same day
- Small business cards (up to 500 cards, one design)
- A4 or A3 flyers / leaflets (up to 200 copies)
- Black & white photocopying (pretty much any quantity)
- Colour photocopying up to 300 pages
- Document binding (comb or spiral, 1–5 reports)
- A4 / A3 laminating (up to 30 sheets)
- Posters up to A2 (on matte or gloss paper)
Jobs that usually need a bit more notice
- Booklets with saddle-stitch binding over 500 copies
- Large-format posters on specialist paper stocks
- Thick card business cards (450 gsm+) when stock needs ordering in
- Custom paper stocks we don't hold in the shop
For these, a phone call the day before usually means we can have your job ready next morning.
How to help us go faster
The single biggest thing that slows a same-day job down is a file that needs fixing. A few simple habits on your end mean we can send it straight to the printer:
- Send a PDF rather than Word or PowerPoint where possible — fonts and layout come through exactly as you designed
- Make sure the page size matches what you want printed (A4, A3, or a custom trim size)
- If you want your design to go right to the edge of the paper, add a 3 mm bleed around it
- Keep images at 300 dpi for sharp print quality
- Email your file ahead to quote@copyshopputney.co.uk — we'll check it over before you arrive
When to ring us first
Any time! But especially if:
- Your job is urgent and you want us to put paper and machine aside before you arrive
- You're unsure whether your file is print-ready
- You need a paper type we might not have in stock
- You're after a large quantity (say, 1,000+ leaflets)
